Removing Your Car Tint

Maybe your car has been tinted for so long that you are tired of it. Or maybe your car's tint is already peeling around the edges, so you'd rather have it all removed than leave it as is. Take your car to a professional and have them remove your car's tint. Most of the time you will have to pay a lot more money for it than you expected.

The prices range from about $50 to $100. Most of all, they claim that removing the car tint would be a difficult task considering that they would also make sure that your car windows do not get scratched. However, by just knowing what kind of materials to use as well as how to do it, you could also be on your way to saving a lot of money on other non-trivial matters to spend.

The procedure is simple. You will need a single-edged razor, a clean rag, and an all-purpose cleaner. You can also use other solvents that are good for removing adhesives of all kinds but are gentle on your car windows and paint. Once you have all of these on hand, begin the process by using a razor knife to cut off a corner of the tint film. Remember that the tint film is not painted on the glass of your window. It is a specially designed thin film that is applied to your window.

Once you have successfully caught a corner of the film, peel the film off. If the film is already removed, spray the cleaner on the glass. Then reapply the film to the glass and leave it there for about 15 to 20 minutes. After that, remove the film again. Spray cleaner on the glass and use the razor knife to scrape off any film residue and adhesive residue. Then, at that point, wipe the glass with a cloth.

However, if you feel that this is not your kind of work and you feel that you might damage your glass, you can contact a local garage that offers such tint removal service. However, keep in mind that you will have to spend quite a bit of money for such a simple task as tint film removal.
